Study Group/Research
A study group is periodically held on weeknights or weekends, and covers a wide range of topics related to health and well-being. This is a place where you can enjoy learning about specialized topics in a way that is easy to understand.
(Example topics) "What is 'mindfulness'?"; "What is the connection between bath houses and health?"
Machiken Times (tentative name) is a local newspaper published periodically which features interviews and discusses places in the Yanesen area connected to health. The first issue was published in the fall of 2017 with a feature on "Movies and Health." Anyone interested in helping with the newspaper is encouraged to apply any time.
At Machiken, we conduct research to analyze how our activities can improve the well-being of local residents. Therefore, we may ask those who participate in Machiken activities to do interviews and/or questionnaires. Of course, participants are free to choose if they want to help with our research, so those who want to participate in activities but do not want to help with our research are still very welcome. We are very mindful of your privacy and will explain more about our research when we ask for volunteers. We appreciate your understanding.
